I dunno why some people have no luck with this product. Maybe BM changed the formula? Maybe the reviewers are shills for the competition?
I have an old bottle and it removes months worth of baked on brown grime off my neglected white letters with just gentle wiping, no scrubbing needed.
I used to use Westley's Bleche-Wite (original formula), and even with that I had to scrub a lot to get those white letters clean.
BM's wheel cleaner truly requires no scrubbing of my clear coated wheels, either, just wiping with a sponge a couple times over and done. And yes, I sometimes neglect my wheels for months, too, and the brake dust gets thick and dark brown.
This cleaner does, however, take the sheen off my wheels, so I have to finish up with wheel polish or silicone spray treatment to get the shine back. It does not remove the clear coat, just causes hazing.
The odor isn't exactly unpleasant; MSDS says it's "cherry".
I suppose it smells as much like cherry as anything else, but in any case, the odor is too strong.
I've run out of the old bottle and will buy a new bottle to see whether the formula has been changed to one that is ineffective. If it's the same stuff as my last bottle, then it DOES work wonders on white letters and painted wheels. It melts the brown right off those letters and gets 'em bright white!
The price is reasonable for this product (Walmart stocks it), and I can't imagine any competitors at double the price and higher would perform better than this cleaner.
I used this in my wheels. Did a great job as long as you do not let it dry on the wheels.
I tried this product on Chile, and I love it, works great removing brake dust and giving a handsome look on wheels
This product does absolutely nothing.
It was cheaper than the competition, so I tried it.
You get what you pay for.
I am looking for a refund.
used on cool , dry wheel, virtually no better than just hosing off wheel with just water from a hose. it did not remove any grime or dirt. sorry, thought black magic products were better than that
